Qualifications: Minimum of a Master's degree in Special Education preferred. Certification in Special Education Leadership or Educational Leadership desired. Minimum of three years teaching experience.
Responsibilities: To assist the Special Education Director in coordinating Special Education programs and implement programs for students with disabilities as mandated by IDEA. Preside at placement meetings as needed and maintain adequate minutes of the meetings. Confer with teachers on the delivery of appropriate services and the implementation of IEPs. Attend state/local workshops regarding Federal Programs. Provide appropriate in-service opportunities to teachers and paraprofessionals in the schools and assist with the training of new special education teachers.
